1. Anatomy & Appearance
Gerbera Daisies: Anatomy & Appearance

A cool thing about nature is studying it scientifically. I liked doing this in my classroom when I taught, and I enjoyed doing it with one of my daughters when I homeschooled her last year. This involves the study of anatomy.
For close-up photos of Gerbera Daisy anatomy, visit "A Close-up View of the Gerbera Daisy." It's quite amazing!
I find so many features of nature to be intricate and incredible, and of course this is true with the gerbera daisy. With the gerbera daisy in particular, I love the strong, tall, straight stems, standing proud. I love the multiple layers of petals and the depth they give to the flower. I love the delicacy of the petals . . . and yet, they're strong and solid like the stems. And I love the calyx - how it's somewhat fuzzy like the stem and how it's also in multiple layers, artistically supporting the petals.
See the diagram below for the parts of a flower:
1. Petals
2. Calyx
3. Sepals
4. Stem (peduncle)
5. Pistil (includes stigma, style, ovary, ovule)
6. Stamen (includes anther, filament)

2. Color & Beauty
Gerbera Daisies: Color & Beauty

As you can see in the photo gallery below, and the other photos on the page, gerbera daisies are vibrant in color. From the deep, dark red-purple to the delicate, light pink to the sunny orange, all of the colors are bright and full of life.
I love having these flowers in my house as much as possible. The color brightens up any room and brings in nature and joy . . . not to mention the wonderful, delicate scent!

Gerbera Daisies: Inspiration & Spiritual Connection

I feel a strong spiritual connection with nature and love to surround myself with it. The colors, textures, scents, delicacy, structure and function of the gerbera daisy all draw me closer to nature, to interconnectedness with all things, and to spirituality.

- Hmmm... Hard to make decision... I love all types of daisies, they're lovely and allow us to discover as to whether "he" or "she" does love us, lol. Liked this lesson... much more interesting than those I had at school!
